Wonder Woman is the latest in a series of DC Comics characters Zehra Fazal has voiced.

Muslim American voice actor Zehra Fazal announced recently that she is voicing Wonder Woman in the upcoming video game “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.”

Fazal took to social media to express her excitement over the role: “Years in the making, I can finally say it. I'm Wonder Woman.”

“Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League” is the latest installment in Rocksteady Studios “Batman: Arkham” (2009–) series. It is the highly anticipated sequel to "Batman: Arkham Knight" (2015). Based on the DC Comics team Suicide Squad, the game will follow four supervillains — Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, Harley Quinn and King Shark — who are assembled to stop the alien invader Brainiac and kill the members of the Justice League brainwashed by him. Wonder Woman features as one of the members of the Justice League.

Based on early gameplay footage and the morally gray area that the Suicide Squad occupies, it’s unclear whether Wonder Woman will serve as foe or reluctant ally in the game. However, as she can be seen in the “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League” trailers fighting both Superman and Captain Boomerang, it seems likely she will align both with and against the player over the course of the game.

Fazal is no stranger to voicing DC Comics characters. Her impressive resume includes Batman's anti-heroine love interest Talia al Ghul in "Batman: Death in the Family" (2020) and "Catwoman: Hunted" (2022), a variety of characters including Bluebird in the fan favorite show "Young Justice" (2010–2023), Noor Rashid in "Gotham Knights" (2022) and supervillani Livewire and other voices in "My Adventures with Superman" (2023–).

Aside from Fazal’s role as Wonder Woman, “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League” is notable for another performance — this game will feature longtime Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy's final performance as Batman following his death in November 2022.

“Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League” was announced in August 2020 and has faced several delays. It is currently set to release for PlayStation 5, Windows and Xbox Series X/S on Feb. 2, 2024.
