The Massachusetts Man Who Sold His Face To "Mortal Kombat"

What if someone could profit off of your face without your knowledge? That hypothetical is a reality for Muslim American creator Shahjehan Khan, who auditioned for a face scan modeling gig and wound up as the face model for Quan Chi in "Mortal Kombat 1" (2023).

Khan says that part of the deal means "they never have to pay you again; they don't even have to formally acknowledge you."

In a recent Instagram post, Matt Shearer of Boston's WBZ NewsRadio 1030 sat down with Khan to discuss his experience.

"It's a super cool thing," Khan says, "and it's also, at the same time, a scary thing for this whole profession. With nine photos of my face, they made an entire 8-hour film."
