According to the author, “The Hysterical Girls of St. Bernadette’s” is “a book about complicated relationships, about trauma, and about what it takes for girls to be believed.”
"The pitch competition was incredible," said Asif Quraishi, the Mosquers Film Festival production director. "It was great to see the combination of creativity and practicality, and the pitchers getting down to brass tacks about how they would execute their vision."
The six finalists were selected from over 20 ideas submitted during an open call in September.
Selected finalists will go on to submit a short film script and pitch deck which they will present live at The Mosquers Film Festival in Edmonton, Alberta on Oct. 15, 2023. The top team will win $1,000 USD and the chance to have their film produced by Rifelion Media.
