SZA Hints At Intimate Mini Tour for “SOS” Deluxe Album “Lana”
SZA revealed news of "Lana" during a recent show, confirming that the deluxe version of "SOS" will drop sometime this fall.

Fans who missed SZA’s recent arena tour promoting her chart-topping album “SOS” might soon be in luck. Rumors have been swirling that SZA is considering a new tour in honor of the deluxe version of the triple platinum “SOS” album, which will be called “Lana.” This deluxe album will feature 7 to 10 new songs and is set to release in the fall. In September, SZA teased “Lana” at a surprise performance in New York’s Brooklyn Navy Yard, told the crowd that, “The deluxe is like a whole other album.”

SZA took to X on Oct. 7 to post “[I] was thinking I wanna do an intimate mini tour for deluxe. But ONLY in the most turnt cities [from the] “SOS” tour. I made a list. Y’all deserve a reward. I’m so grateful.” While no cities have been confirmed for a mini tour yet, SZA has tweeted back positively at fans requesting she return to Atlanta and Baltimore.

Despite the overwhelming success of “SOS,” SZA didn't expect it to do so well and is still surprised by its popularity. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, she told the publication that, “I didn’t think I’d be number one at all. I thought Taylor [Swift] was going to dust me … I never know when things are going to be popular. I never know what songs people are going to attach to.”

SZA released “SOS” in Dec. 2022 to immense critical and commercial acclaim. The record spent 10 weeks at the top of Billboard’s 200 albums chart, making history as the longest-leading No. 1 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop albums chart since 1990. “SOS” has maintained momentum throughout 2023 with five top 10 hits, including “Kill Bill,” which broke records for spending 21 weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. Fann has previously praised “SOS” here.

“SOS” has spent weeks on top of the R&B/Hip-Hop charts, and SZA has continued to prove her critics wrong by breaking records and profiting from her work. She is anticipated to earn several Grammy nods when the nominees are announced next month.
