Cover Revealed for “Ramadan Kareem,” Celebrating Ramadan Around the World

HarperKids just revealed the cover for “Ramadan Kareem,” an upcoming picture book that is “a delightful, diverse celebration of Ramadan around the world.” The book was penned by author M. O. Yuksel and illustrated by Hatem Aly, who previously collaborated on their award-winning book in "In My Mosque."

The publisher’s site describes the book as follows:

M.O. Yuksel was born in Turkey, raised in New York City and now resides in New Jersey with her family. She spent over twenty years in education before becoming a full-time writer. Yuksel’s two published books, “In My Mosque” and “One Wish,” have both received critical acclaim. She has a strong passion for researching and writing about lesser-known historical figures and diverse cultures. She also actively participates in various writing and mentorship programs, including the Highlights Foundation Muslim Writers Fellowship Program and the NSK Neustadt Prize for Children's and Young Adult Literature, among others.

Hatem Aly is an Egyptian-born illustrator who is renowned for his work on numerous highly-praised books for young readers. His illustrations have graced New York Times bestsellers like "The Proudest Blue" with Ibtihaj Muhammad and S. K. Ali, "The Inquisitor’s Tale" (a Newbery Honor winner) with Adam Gidwitz, the "Yasmin" series with Saadia Faruqi (who Fann spoke with recently) and many others. Aly resides in New Brunswick, Canada, with his wife, son, and a multitude of pets.
