Out Now for Poetry and Electronica Enthusiasts: Sham-e-Ali Nayeem’s “Moti Ka Sheher”
“Moti Ka Sheher,” a 10-track indie electronica album produced and created by musician, poet and former lawyer Sham-e-Ali Nayeem, is now available. The album is the musical interpretation of “City of Pearls,” Nayeem’s debut book of poetry about loss from her perspective as a Hyderabadi Muslim American. Songs are a combination of spoken word, electronic beat and background chants, featuring collaborations with vocalists such as Gabriela Riley, Tough Gossamer, Adeeba Talukder and TreZure Empire.
