Limited Podcast Covering the 2024 Election Slated to Launch in June 2024
“Nationly” will discuss the “why?” behind political issues that really matter to minority communities — immigrants and communities of color — specifically in the battleground states at the heart of this year’s election season.
Immigrantly Media has just announced their new limited-run podcast series, “Nationly,” set to launch in June 2024. Co-hosted by Tanzina Vega and Sara Sadhwani, “Nationly” will discuss the “why?” behind political issues that really matter to minority communities — immigrants and communities of color — specifically in the battleground states at the heart of this year’s election season. Each episode of “Nationly” will seek to answer what are the key defining moments in these voters’ lives.
Meet the hosts of “Nationly”:
Tanzina Vega (she/her) is a contributing writer for the Boston Globe Opinion section and founder of La Mala Media. Previously, Vega was a reporter and producer for The New York Times and CNN where she led coverage of race and inequality and was the first Latina host of The Takeaway on WNYC, where she led daily coverage of national news. She has been a recipient of the Robert G. McGruder Distinguished Lecture and Award from Kent State University for her coverage of race and a contributing producer Emmy Award in news and documentary.
Sara Sadhwani (she/her) is an assistant professor of politics at Pomona College, a Democracy Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy Ash Center for Democratic Governance and Innovation and serves as a commissioner on the California Citizens Redistricting Commission, which successfully redrew congressional and state legislative districts in 2021.
Vega, as one of the co-hosts of “Nationly,” shared in a statement that she’s, “excited to work on this production with Saadia Khan and the entire ‘Immigrantly’ team. Getting behind the mic for our new show ‘Nationly’ is an opportunity to bring fresh, alternative conversations about communities of color to the forefront”.
Funding for “Nationaly” is supported by American Public Media Group (APMG). The investment from APMG will be allocated toward innovative storytelling ventures, content licensing initiatives and additional podcasts from Immigrantly Media.
“Nationly” is produced by Shei Yu and Saadia Khan. Scripted by Rainier Harris, Yu and Khan. Audio editing and sound design is by Steve Martin. Theme music by Simon Hutchinson; other music by Epidemic Sound.
