Hasan Minhaj’s “Celebrity Jeopardy” Appearance Was Not for Everyone

Comedian Hasan Minhaj’s appearance on “Celebrity Jeopardy” is making waves among fans of the franchise. Minhaj, who recently released his Netflix comedy special The King’s Jester, appeared on the Oct. 30 episode of the show to raise money for the International Rescue Committee’s fund for Pakistan flood relief.

During the episode, Minhaj, as he described it, played “with vigor and passion,” animating his answers and poking fun at his fellow contestants. His behavior upset some on Twitter, who said he interrupted the flow of the game by repeatedly shifting the focus to himself.

Others, however, defended Minhaj and said that he brought levity as he worked to support a good cause.

One former contestant even shared a GIF of himself dancing during his appearance on regular “Jeopardy.”

Minhaj discussed the episode with Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show, issuing an apology to Jeopardy fans: “I’m sorry for trying to make Jeopardy fun.”

Next time, Minhaj announced, he’ll try out The Price is Right instead.
