Despite the game’s mixed reception, praise for Fazal’s performance as Diana Prince has been overwhelmingly positive.
Emmy-Winning Comedian Ramy Youssef Takes the Director's Chair for “The Bear” Season 2
Youssef is the first and only person to serve as a director on “The Bear” besides the show’s creator and showrunner Christopher Storer.
Ramy Youssef, comedian and creator of the Emmy-winning “Ramy,” directed Season 2 Episode 4 of FX’s “The Bear,” titled “Honeydew.” The episode, which features Will Poulter as a guest star, follows Marcus, the pastry chef at the titular restaurant The Bear, as he works under chef Luca (Poulter) in Copenhagen.
Youssef is the first and only person to serve as a director on “The Bear” besides the show’s creator and showrunner Christopher Storer and co-showrunner Joanna Calo. He told Variety Magazine that he felt a level of responsibility in this role: “I understand the position Chris is in really well. … [The show is] his baby. So I appreciated that trust, and also he knew he wanted the episode to feel different from the rest of the show.”
The episode is a break from an otherwise frenetic season as the staff at the Bear prepares to re-open, this time aspiring to finer dining. “Honeydew” focuses mainly on Marcus during his stay in Copenhagen, as he takes a break from the stressful work of rebuilding the restaurant and taking care of his paralyzed mother.
“The Bear” follows Carmen Berzatto (Jeremy Allen-White) as he struggles to keep his brother’s restaurant in Chicago afloat after his brother’s tragic death. While the first season began with Berzatto attempting to save the restaurant as it was, the second sees a new dawn on the newly-named The Bear, as the staff work to build a different establishment, from the walls to a fine dining-appropriate menu. The first season premiered on Hulu on June 23, 2022, and the second season released a year later, this time becoming FX’s most-watched Hulu premiere.
