Coming Soon: Hulu's Reality Series “Secrets and Sisterhood: The Sozahdahs”

Hulu has announced a brand new unscripted reality show called “Secrets and Sisterhood: The Sozahdahs,” following the lives of 10 glamorous Afghan Muslim American sisters living in Los Angeles. The show explores faith, family, and the first-generation immigrant experience: Since their parents moved to the U.S. in the 1980s, some of the sisters grew up in Afghanistan while the others grew up in Los Angeles, leading to some differences in attitudes and beliefs within the family. The sisters also have varied careers, with the brood including a rapper, a restauranteur, a physician assistant, real estate agents and a behavioral therapist.

“Secrets and Sisterhood: The Sozahdahs” will arrive on Hulu on June 7, in the midst of a writers strike that has brought scripted series to a halt.

Synopsis from Hulu: “Raw, real, and rife with shocking revelations, this new unscripted series follows 10 Muslim American sisters whose faith and bonds are put to the ultimate test while trying to navigate cultural expectations, their careers, and love in Los Angeles. The number #1 rule The Sozahdah sisters swear by is the ‘family over everything.’ But what happens when the secrets these sisters hold sacred are revealed and the TV show they thought would bring them together threatens to tear them apart?”
