Comedians Mo Amer and Azhar Usman’s new podcast

Comedians Mo Amer and Azhar Usman have a new podcast “Joking Not Joking,” a Luminary Original, that explores the big questions: are we living in a simulation? Are ghosts real? Are aliens real?

The podcast began dropping episodes every Thursday with the first episode coming out on June 22, diving into the ever-debated question of whether aliens are real. Amer and Usman are long-time collaborators, after having been part of the comedy troupe “Allah Made Me Funny,” along with comedian Preacher Moss.

The podcast’s description reads:

Comedians Mo Amer and Azhar Usman ask the big questions the modern world makes you forget. Are we living in a simulation? What is money? What is life after death? They get real when it gets uncomfortable and funny when it gets serious. Are they joking… or not? New episodes drop every Thursday.

Guests so far have included Ramy Youssef, a collaborator of Amer’s, poet and screenwriter Amir Sulaiman, and actress Quintess Swindell. The podcast is a humorous deep dive and conversation between friends, as Amer and Usman both invite their own friends to discuss often daunting questions of life with fast-paced humor.

As a Luminary Original, the podcast is available to subscribers. Listen to the first episode for free here.
