Canadian actor and producer Rizwan Manji is a familiar face to the big (and small) screen.
His acting career spans several decades, starting with his debut role in “Sue,” a 1997 American drama film. Since then, he’s played parts in a number of films and TV shows, and is most notably known for his recurring roles in the Canadian television sitcom “Schitt’s Creek,” the American fantasy television series “The Magicians” and the American sitcom television series “Outsourced.”
Manji is now taking his talents to the television stage, starring in “Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration.” The live-action TV special, which aired on ABC on December 15, 2022 and is now available to stream on Disney+, celebrates the anniversary of the Disney animated classic Beauty and the Beast, which first premiered in 1991. Manji plays his first musical character ever, LeFou, a role that he describes as his most challenging one to date. Role: Tick Pickwick
“The Magicians,” a fantasy television series, follows a group of young adults as they attend Brakebills College for Magical Pedagogy, a secret school for those who possess magical abilities. Manji plays the role of Tick Pickwick, a leader of a magical society called Fillory. He was featured in seasons 2-5 of the show.
3. “Outsourced” (2010-2011)
Role: Rajiv Gidwani
“Outsourced,” a comedy television series, centers on the call center staff of a novelty items company that work out of India. Todd Dempsy, played by Ben Rappaport, travels to India and is tasked with running the call center. He meets interesting characters in the company as he adjusts to life abroad. Manji plays the role of Rajiv Gidwani and was featured in all 22 aired episodes of the show’s first season.
